Amid all the Succession theories that have emerged after HBO dropped the trailer and poster for the series’ fourth and final season this week — fans poring over the significance of neckties and whether the presence of a rogue airplane means the entire cast will get Remember Me’d — another hypothesis has emerged, one seemingly backed by one of the show’s major player.

Days before the trailer and poster promoting Succession’s final season hit the web, J. Smith-Cameron — the actress behind everyone’s favorite “slime-puppy” JOI Gerri Kellman — hopped on Twitter, where she liked a post theorizing that while the series may be coming to a close, the Roys aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

“Succession isn’t actually over in season 4 logan is going to die which means there’s going to be a successor,” wrote Twitter user @mcwexlercigs last week, before speculating that “the successor will be one of the siblings.”

“The season will end with one of the siblings becoming the successor,” they continued, arguing that “Jesse Armstrong is creating a new show called SUCCESSOR.”

As the new theories surrounding the show’s season, four materials began to circulate on the r/SuccessionTV subreddit, others began pondering whether Smith-Cameron’s like was merely that or an indicator of what may come following the show’s seemingly abrupt end.

“She also retweeted the Better Call Gerri tweet,“ mused u/80alleycats referencing one of the many tweets envisioning how Gerri could become HBO’s Saul Goodman.

“I’m guessing the ending is VEEEERY open-ended and could be challenged if there was a 5th season,” added OP u/Cold_Breadfruit_9794 in response to another user questioning the differences between the theoretical Successor and another season of the existing series.
